The Smart METRO Project Team from University of the Philippines Diliman – UP Department of Geodetic Engineering conducted the Smart Regions Seminar and Ceremional Signing Activity at Sam’s 21 Hotel, Iloilo City.
This workshop activity aims to align local and regional strategies to support MIGEDC’s digital governance. Key updates include the development of SMART METRO products (Regional Geodatabase, Regional Metabolism Models, and a Regional Coordination Platform); exploration of the Academe’s Research-based technologies, GeoAI applications, and Data-driven governance prioritizing ethical use and predictive analytics; and Data Privacy, Security, and Democratization.
Attending are all Member-LGUs of MIGEDC with their officers on: Local Economic Development, Disaster Risk Reduction, Local Planning and Development, Tourism, Transportation, and Health.
Resource persons from State Universities and Colleges, National Government Agencies in Metro Iloilo and Guimaras (DOST Region VI, NEDA Regional Office 6 – Western Visayas), and Innovate Iloilo took part in resource and knowledge sharing among LGUs.
