ILOILO CITY AND MIGEDC GENERATE OVER ₱1-M SALES, INTERNATIONAL DEALS AT MANILA FAME 2025

Iloilo City and the Metro Iloilo–Guimaras Economic Development Council (MIGEDC) reported remarkable results from their participation in Manila FAME 2025, with more than ₱1.1 million in actual sales and attracting USD 430,545 in international deals under negotiation.

The strong sales came from seven local enterprises and homegrown brands that showcased Ilonggo creativity and craftsmanship in the country’s premier design and lifestyle exhibition held at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, Manila from Oct. 16 to 18.

Of the total sales, retail and cash sales reached ₱619,353, while local booked sales amounted to ₱403,800. In addition, international transactions under negotiation totaled USD 430,545, and local deals under negotiation reached ₱164,500.

The results underscored the growing market appeal of Iloilo-made products—from contemporary fashion and jewelry to crafts and home décor—capturing the interest of both local buyers and global distributors.

Iloilo City Mayor Raisa Trenas, who personally visited the exhibit, lauded the exhibitors for their impressive showing and emphasized that the success reflects Iloilo’s thriving creative and entrepreneurial community.

“These results prove that Ilonggo creativity has strong commercial potential not just locally but internationally,” said Mayor Trenas.

“Through our continued participation in platforms like Manila FAME, we empower our local MSMEs to grow, connect with wider markets, and strengthen Iloilo’s identity as a hub for innovation and design,” she added.

Brought by the Iloilo City Government and MIGEDC, which is chaired by Mayor Trenas, the participating homegrown brands included Lampirong Collection, Modern Ilongga, Fiesta Philippines, Iloilo Capiz Shell Flowers and Antiques, Corral’s Shell Arts and Crafts, Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation, Inc., and Cuaycong Native Products.

For most of them, this was their first exposure at a national trade fair with global market reach.

The Metro Iloilo’s Manila Fame participation is in line with the city’s efforts to promote inclusive economic growth and global competitiveness for local entrepreneurs under its Rise-To-Action framework, particularly Rising Economy. (Iloilo City PIO)
