The Metro Iloilo-Guimaras Economic Development Council (MIGEDC) is profoundly encouraged by the recent sentiments expressed by the council’s chairperson, Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas regarding our Strategic Road Map. MIGEDC through its Technical Working Group (TWG) and Program Management Office (PMO) commissioned the services of Dr. Evan Anthony V. Arias, EnP, an independent consultant to update the roadmap document which was initially drafted by USAID Urban Connect Project in 2024.

The Strategic Road Map delves into critical areas such as infrastructure development, economic diversification, environmental sustainability, and social equity, providing actionable strategies and initiatives designed to maximize our collective potential. It serves as a living document anchored on the core pillars of livability, competitiveness, connectivity and mobility, and metropolitan governance, adaptable to the evolving needs and opportunities of Metro Iloilo and Guimaras.

The working document of the roadmap was turned over on 26 June 2025 by Dr. Arias to Mayor Treñas, LGU Pavia Mayor Laurence Anthony G. Gorriceta, LGU Sta. Barbara Mayor Dennis S. Superficial, M.D., and representatives of the member-LGUs.

The MIGEDC is invigorated by this collaborative spirit and the alignment of vision demonstrated by Mayor Treñas. We are dedicated to working closely with all stakeholders to translate the Strategic Road Map into tangible advancements, thereby cultivating a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable Metro Iloilo and Guimaras for everyone.
